Aspen, Colorado
In August we headed to Aspen with some family and are contemplating making it a yearly thing. The weather couldn't of been any better and Hotel Jerome was the perfect place to stay! We love how Aspen is so walkable and we literally just woke up every day and walked around. You obviously cannot miss the Maroon Bells!
They are about a fifteen minute drive from Aspen and it's roughly $10-$15 a car if you don't have the National Parks Pass. There was plenty of fly fishing, eating, and just walking the streets and soaking up the beautiful weather. There was something special about this time of year when we went and it’s a trip we will always remember.
Stay
This hotel is an all time favorite. Think upscale Colorado mountain lodge. The rooms are fabulous and we think about this place often. We hope to go back someday!
Eat
Meat and Cheese - This place might have been our all time favorite of everything. Just go!
Spring Cafe - This place has great fresh pressed juices and a delicious acai bowl.
Main Street Bakery and Cafe - We went here for breakfast on our last day and it was a super cute worn in place with really great food.
L'Hostaria - This place has delicious homemade pasta!
Matsuhisa - Super yummy sushi. Be careful though, the portions are pretty small if you eat on the top level.
Do
Fly Fish - The Fryingpan is one of the world's best fly fishing rivers.
Hike the maroon bells - While it's one of Aspen's most popular destinations, the Maroon Bells might be one of Colorado's most beautiful mountain areas.
Watch the stars - The best thing about being in the middle of the mountains and away form the big cities is the amazing view of the stars.
